 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Mpumalanga and Limpopo Police Nab Fugitive in Joint Operation at Waalkraal


A 36-year-old male suspect was arrested during a well-coordinated, intelligence-driven joint operation conducted by SAPS members from Dennilton in Limpopo and a Task Team from Mpumalanga on Monday, 24 June 2025, at midday. The suspect was apprehended while hiding in Waalkraal, located within the Dennilton policing area in the Sekhukhune District.


The operation followed actionable intelligence about the suspect’s whereabouts and his alleged possession of suspected stolen property, firearms, and ammunition. Acting swiftly, the joint team successfully tracked and arrested the suspect at the identified location.


During the arrest, police recovered various items, including ammunition, two replica firearms, multiple vehicle number plates, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a suspected stolen vehicle.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Dennilton Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. He faces charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of ammunition.
