 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Mpumalanga and Limpopo Police Nab Fugitive in Joint Operation at Waalkraal


A 36-year-old male suspect was arrested during a well-coordinated, intelligence-driven joint operation conducted by SAPS members from Dennilton in Limpopo and a Task Team from Mpumalanga on Monday, 24 June 2025, at midday. The suspect was apprehended while hiding in Waalkraal, located within the Dennilton policing area in the Sekhukhune District.


The operation followed actionable intelligence about the suspect’s whereabouts and his alleged possession of suspected stolen property, firearms, and ammunition. Acting swiftly, the joint team successfully tracked and arrested the suspect at the identified location.


During the arrest, police recovered various items, including ammunition, two replica firearms, multiple vehicle number plates, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a suspected stolen vehicle.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Dennilton Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. He faces charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of ammunition.
