 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  OKPOKWU BENUE LINKS ATTACK: KIDNAP VICTIM'S FAMILY BEGS GOVT AS KIDNAPPERS DEMAND ₦350 MILLION RANSOM

The family of one of the victims abducted during the recent bandit attack on a Benue Links bus in Okpokwu Local Government Area has appealed to the government to intervene, as kidnappers are now demanding ₦350 million for the release of the hostages.


Citizen Television gathered from Mr. Terna Agbecha, whose cousin, Hembadoon Akume, was among the abducted passengers that the kidnappers have established contact with the family and issued the hefty ransom demand.


“My cousin Hembadoon Akume is among those taken. We are asking the government to intervene. They called and asked for ₦350 million. Our elder sister has paid ₦500,000, but they refused to set her free,” Agbecha lamented.


The tragic incident occurred when armed men suspected to be bandits hijacked a Benue State-owned commercial bus traveling through Okpokwu, forcing the passengers into the bush at gunpoint.
