 ANAMBRA POLICE ACTION ON THE CULT CLASH THAT RESULTED IN THE FATAL INJURY OF FOUR PERSONS AT AFOR NAWFIA MARKET The Anambra State Police Command wishes to provide a comprehensive update on the cult-related attack that occurred on the evening of 7th December 2025 at Afor Nawfia Market, along the Onitsha–Awka Old Road. It will be recalled that operatives of the Command attached to the Special Anti-Cult Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, had, four days earlier, acting on credible intelligence about a planned rival cult confrontation, arrested two dangerous suspects and recovered a firearm from them. The arrested suspects have been assisting the Police with valuable information aimed at preventing further cult-related violence within Awka and its environs. POLICE IN KANO BUSTED A SYNDICATE OF TRICYCLE SNATCHERS: ARREST 4 SUSPECTS AND RECOVER 6 STOLEN TRICYCLES


The Kano State Police Command has arrested a syndicate of tricycle snatchers, including a female that has been terrorizing the State. On 17th June 2025, Police operatives, acting on credible  information, apprehended two suspects namely, one Auwal Mohammed, 'm', 30 years old of Hotoro Quarters, Kano and Maryam Ibrahim, 'f', 25 years old of Bauchi State, at Kura LGA, Kano.


The suspects allegedly drugged one tricycle rider, Shu'aibu Aliyu and attempted to snatch his tricycle. A prompt response by the Police led to the recovery of the tricycle. Further investigation revealed the involvement of two additional suspects as receivers viz: Suleiman Lawal, A.K.A Aljan, 'm', 25 years old of Sheka Quarters, and Muhammad Tajuddeen, 'm', 32 years old of Kundila Quarters, Kano. They were subsequently arrested. A total of six (6) stolen tricycles were recovered from the suspects. 


The Command is committed to ensuring that the suspects face the full weight of the law, based on their culpability.


The Command urges members of the public to be vigilant and cautious of such syndicates and their modus operandi. 


In addition,  anyone who has had their tricycles stolen should kindly check with the Command at Bompai Police Headquarters, office of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), or contact 07014601313, for possible identification and collection.
