 LAGOS LAW REFORM COMMISSION ENGAGES TOURISM, AGRICULTURE MINISTRIES ON SECTORAL LAW REFORMS The Lagos State Law Reform Commission recently held consultative engagements with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems as part of ongoing efforts to review, modernise and harmonise sectoral laws for improved governance, institutional efficiency and sustainable development in Lagos State. The engagement with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture was initiated and led by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Oluyemisi Ogunlola.  The delegation was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Princess Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, alongside relevant departmental and agency representatives.  Human Skeletal Remains Discovered in Inanda Sugar Cane Field Following Harvest Triggered by Fire


Human skeletal remains were discovered on Monday, 09 June 2025, in a sugar cane field in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal.


At approximately 15:03, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from a local farmer after his employees uncovered the remains while clearing a section of the field. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.


Upon arrival, officers were guided to the site where a human skull, femur, and pelvic bones were located. It is believed the remains became visible following a fire that broke out in the field the previous night (Sunday), which prompted an early harvest.


According to the farmer, the last harvest took place in November 2024, and no human remains were observed at that time.


The matter is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.
