Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  Human Skeletal Remains Discovered in Inanda Sugar Cane Field Following Harvest Triggered by Fire


Human skeletal remains were discovered on Monday, 09 June 2025, in a sugar cane field in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal.


At approximately 15:03, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from a local farmer after his employees uncovered the remains while clearing a section of the field. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.


Upon arrival, officers were guided to the site where a human skull, femur, and pelvic bones were located. It is believed the remains became visible following a fire that broke out in the field the previous night (Sunday), which prompted an early harvest.


According to the farmer, the last harvest took place in November 2024, and no human remains were observed at that time.


The matter is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.
