 Tanzania closes Nduta camp housing thousands of Burundi refugees Tanzania has closed a camp housing thousands of Burundian refugees and repatriated all but a handful, activists and the United Nations said. Burundian refugees have complained in recent months of being forcibly evicted from the Nduta camp in northwestern Tanzania, following a deal between the governments in Dar Es Salaam and Bujumbura to repatriate around 100,000 of them by June. As of late 2025, there were an estimated 142,000 Burundian refugees housed in two Tanzanian camps - Nduta and Nyarugusu, according to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR). "The approximately 3,000 refugees who remained in the (Nduta) camp were forcibly loaded onto vehicles to be sent back to Burundi on Thursday," the Coalition for Human Rights/Living in Refugee Camps (CDH/VICAR) said, AFP reported.  SECURITY IN ANAMBRA: CP ORUTUGU TAKES SECURITY ADVOCACY TO ACHALLA COMMUNITY, AWKA NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT


_moves to apply Alternative Dispute Resolution to bring the Stakeholders in the Community together_


The Commissioner of Police *CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD* today 1st June 2025 took security advocacy to Achalla Community, Awka North Local Government Area on a courtesy visit to the Palace of the traditional ruler His Royal Majesty Igwe Ositadimma Sunny Nwokedi, Eze Oranyelu I of Achalla Kingdom. The visit was aimed at promoting Security dialogue in addressing matters of concerns among the Stakeholders of the community and collaboration to combat the common enemy threatening the State. 


The *CP* observing the geographical nature Community sought greater cooperation from the indigenes to continue to deny the Criminal elements the space to wreak havoc in the State.


The Traditional Ruler, Eze Oranyelu, while appreciating the *CP* for the visit welcomed the security initiative and pledged to collaborate with security agencies to enhance safety and order in Achalla. He assured that he would work closely with the Police to promote peace and stability in the area. 


In receiving the Commissioner of Police includes Bar Patrick Neorah (Secretary Igwe in council), Engr Ken Odezulu (Ochi war), Ozo Chinedu Okadigbo (PRO/publicity Igwe in council) and amongst other dignitaries 


The Command remains committed to partnership with the community to build trust and improve security outcomes.
