Serial burglar nabbed again with stolen wires in Ogun

A 26-year-old serial offender, Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, has again been arrested for burglary, his fifth arrest for similar crimes.

Ibrahim was caught with stolen aluminium and electrical wires, which he allegedly removed from a building behind the fence of Living Faith Tabernacle, popularly known as Winners Chapel, in Ogun State.

Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, apprehended him during a routine patrol.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, and signed by Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, on Monday, the burglar was caught by the Iyesi Area Command team while loitering suspiciously.

The statement reads, “He initially claimed to be a scavenger.

“But upon a professional and coordinated assessment, he failed to explain how he came into possession of the wires and aluminium, nor could he prove ownership.”

Ganzallo revealed that the suspect later admitted to vandalising the building and confessed to having been arrested on four previous occasions for similar crimes.

He confirmed that the suspect and the stolen items have been handed over to the Onipanu Police Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
