 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. TCN RESTORES ELECTRICITY TO SIX STATES IN NORTHEAST NIGERIA AFTER PROLONGED DARKNESS. (PHOTO).


 TCN restores electricity to six states in Northeast Nigeria after prolonged darkness


The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced the restoration of normal bulk electricity supply to the six states in North-east Nigeria.


TCN spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.


The power restoration comes after completing the connection of the new Bauchi 330/132 kV Transmission Substation to the national grid through the 330 kV and 132 kV Jos-Bauchi-Gombe Transmission Line.


“The lines were initially switched off to enable TCN energise the new Bauchi Substation, one of the biggest substations in the region to the grid.


“The transmission lines have now been reconnected back to the grid. Consequently, supply to the north-east has been restored since the 19th of June at about 16:45 hours.


“With the project completed, bulk power transmission has been restored to Jos and Yola Electricity Distribution Companies, which supply electricity to customers in Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Damaturu, Adamawa, and Taraba States.


“This connection of the new substation to the national grid has enhanced power reliability, diversified transmission routes, and improved emergency response capabilities in the Northeastern region.


“We appreciate the patience and support of affected customers during the outage period,” TCN stated.


The region had been thrown into darkness since June 10, 2025.
