 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Three Dangerous Murder Suspects Escape from Custody, Still at Large


Three awaiting-trial prisoners, Patrick Mbombi, Thabo Moye Makgopa, and Javas Mongwe, escaped from police custody on the morning of 24 June 2025 after overpowering officers at the Letsitele policing precinct. The suspects are still on the run.


The trio was being held for their alleged role in the brutal murder of Raymond Themba Mathebula, a former teacher at Kremetart Primary School and resident of Bode Village. The murder occurred in April 2024.


It is alleged that Mathebula’s wife, Mahlaule, hired the three men to kill her husband in exchange for an insurance payout. Reports indicate the suspects charged R200,000 for the hit, with R10,000 paid upfront and the balance to be paid after the insurance claim was processed.


Mahlaule and the suspects had been in custody following multiple court appearances.


Police have warned that the escaped men are extremely dangerous and have urged the public not to approach them. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact their nearest police station immediately.
