This case is shrouded in mystery.

A Connecticut mother and her 1 month old baby went missing only to be found on a wooded road with serious injuries. Sadly the baby succumbed to those injuries.

27-year-old Sadie Fleming and her 1 month old son, Hudson, were reported missing Sunday morning. According to reports the two were last seen leaving her home sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

A state wide Siver Alert was issued and law enforcement began the daunting task of searching for the missing mother and child.

Sadly, the search would be short lived. At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Sunday both mother and child were found on a wooded road in Washington, Connecticut. Sadie was found in the roadway suffering from very serious injuries. Hudson was discovered nearby in the woods close to the road.

Both mother and child were rushed to an area hospital where Hudson was pronounced deceased.  Sadie still remains in the hospital receiving treatment for her severe injuries.

Police say the cause of the serious injuries are unclear at this point. They also have not announced any arrests or suspects in connection to the case, however they say there is no threat to the public.

The incident remains under investigation. If you or anyone you know have any information regarding the disappearance and ultimate death and injury to Sadie and Hudson please call the Connecticut State Police at 1-860-626-7900
