 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo.  No Official Switch: Favour Ofili Remains Nigerian Athlete, Says NSC


The National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed that there is no official indication of sprinter Favour Ofili switching her allegiance to Turkey. NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade emphasized that Ofili remains a Nigerian athlete and continues to receive support through the Elite Athletes Programme. 


Speculation about Ofili’s potential switch emerged amid reports of her frustration with administrative lapses by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria in the past. However, the NSC maintains that no formal notice of a change in allegiance has been received, affirming Ofili’s status as a Nigerian athlete.
