  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  SOUTH AFRICA: Two Suspects Arrested for the Murder of Elderly Couple in North West


Two men, aged 41 and 29, have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of George Koster (69) and his wife Wilma (66) in the North West.

 The suspects were apprehended in Boitekong and Rustenburg on Tuesday evening, where police also seized a white Kia Rio and a suspected murder weapon. They are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of murder.

Police Launch Manhunt After Elderly Couple Fatally Shot in Rustenburg


Police in Rustenburg have launched a manhunt following the brutal killing of an elderly couple in the parking lot of a shopping centre on the afternoon of Saturday, 14 June 2025.


Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple was fatally shot after a confrontation with the occupants of a white Kia Rio with no number plates. Paramedics declared both victims dead at the scene.


Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any information that could assist the investigation to contact Lt Col Mainganyo Nathaniël Phatsoane on 082 373 9571 or Lt Col Patrick Murunwa on 082 772 5999.
