 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  SOUTH AFRICA: Two Suspects Arrested for the Murder of Elderly Couple in North West


Two men, aged 41 and 29, have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of George Koster (69) and his wife Wilma (66) in the North West.

 The suspects were apprehended in Boitekong and Rustenburg on Tuesday evening, where police also seized a white Kia Rio and a suspected murder weapon. They are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of murder.

Police Launch Manhunt After Elderly Couple Fatally Shot in Rustenburg


Police in Rustenburg have launched a manhunt following the brutal killing of an elderly couple in the parking lot of a shopping centre on the afternoon of Saturday, 14 June 2025.


Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple was fatally shot after a confrontation with the occupants of a white Kia Rio with no number plates. Paramedics declared both victims dead at the scene.


Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any information that could assist the investigation to contact Lt Col Mainganyo Nathaniël Phatsoane on 082 373 9571 or Lt Col Patrick Murunwa on 082 772 5999.
