 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 Wike Dares PDP Critics, Says No One Can Expel Him from Party


Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Monday, strongly rebuffed calls for his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that no one has the authority or courage to remove him. Speaking at a media parley in Abuja at 12:55 PM WAT, the former Rivers State governor emphasized his long-standing commitment to the party and challenged his detractors to justify their contributions compared to his.


“I am still in the PDP. I worked hard for the party,” Wike declared. “I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, ‘Wike, you are not a member of the party.’ Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?”


Wike’s comments come amid escalating tensions within the PDP, fueled by concerns over his role in the current administration and his political stance, which some party members view as conflicting with the party’s interests. Despite the criticism, the FCT minister insisted that his loyalty to the PDP remains unshaken and warned that he would not be easily ousted. The ongoing rift highlights deepening divisions within the party as it navigates internal challenges ahead of future political contests.
