Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. Media personality, Yeni Kuti, and PDP chieftain, Segun Sowunmi, almost clashed on national TV today June 10. Segun was a guest on TVC’s Your View, where he was being interviewed on his recent visit to President Tinubu.


Sowunmi shocked many over the weekend when he paid a visit to President Tinubu in his Lagos residence during the Sallah holiday. Sowunmi had been very critical of the Tinubu government and never missed an opportunity to express his reservation.


Many Nigerians felt that his recent visit is a preamble to defecting to the APC.


During his interview, Ms Kuti posed a question to Sowunmi, asking when he would be defecting.


‘’You had a lot of criticism for the President. Now you are tune seems to have changed. So when is your own move? When are you leaving PDP to APC’’ Ms. Yeni had asked


A visibly irritated Sowunmi left the presenters stunned by his response.


‘’Although I can’t see who is asking that question. I didn’t come to your programme so you can try to be cheeky with me. Stop that! 


Yeni immediately responded saying she cannot be cheeky with him because she knows she is older than him. When he finally found out that it was Ms Kuti that asked the question, he said ‘’Oh sister ooo! My Aunty! I take that back. Please do not be angry’’
