 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Abure, LP factional chairman, visits Wike in Abuja


Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT).


The meeting took place at Wike’s residence in Abuja, the nation’s capital.


The purpose or agenda of the meeting is not known, but it is coming days after the Abure-led faction asked Peter Obi, the LP presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to quit the party for joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.


Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and minister under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is blamed by his party members for being the ‘mastermind’ of the crisis rocking the opposition party.
