  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  FG Moves to Repatriate Stranded Nigerians from CAR


The Federal Government has retrieved the passports of stranded Nigerians in the Central African Republic and is working to repatriate them. 


A military-escorted vehicle has been dispatched to evacuate them from Bambari to Bangui. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with local authorities and the workers' employers to ensure their safety, welfare, and return to Nigeria.
