 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. FG PLANS TO END FISH IMPORTATION IN ORDER TO SCALE UP DOMESTIC FISH PRODUCTION.(PHOTO).

 FG plans to end fish importation in order to scale up domestic fish production.


The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has announced plans to end Nigeria’s dependence on imported fish by strengthening local production through comprehensive reforms in the aquaculture and fisheries sector.


Oyetola made the announcement during a meeting with fisheries cooperative groups in Abuja, according to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Dr. Bolaji Akinola.


“Nigeria must chart a new course towards self-sufficiency in fish production. The Federal Government is fully committed to supporting the fisheries and aquaculture subsector through policy, technical support, and financial inclusion.”


Oyetola also highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to empower women and youth in the sector, including the provision of start-up grants and other support initiatives..
