Governor Hope Uzodimma has reconstituted the Imo State Boundary Committee, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustainable peace, security, and socio-economic development in the state’s border communities.
The committee, now chaired by Deputy Governor Lady (Dr.) Chinyere Ekomaru, will work closely with the National Boundary Commission to address boundary-related issues, focusing on the accurate delineation and maintenance of Nigeria’s administrative maps, especially as they affect Imo State.
Governor Uzodimma emphasized that the initiative is vital to resolving territorial disputes and preventing conflicts that could arise from boundary misunderstandings. He expressed confidence that the committee would discharge its duties with diligence and objectivity, in the best interest of the state and the nation.
