 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  “How Is This Even Okay?” – Mercy Johnson Questions Ghanaian TV Station for Airing Her New Movie Without Consent


Nollywood actress  Mercy Johnson is the next filmmaker to lash out at a Ghanaian-based television station on social media. 


She took to the internet to express her dissatisfaction after the TV station, Blazing TV, aired her latest movie, The Firstborn, which premiered on Thursday, July 18, 2025. 


Addressing her frustration on her Facebook page, the actress criticized the television station for airing her movie without her consent.


She noticed that a fan took a photo as the television network that aired the movie on their channel downloaded it from her YouTube channel. 


Mercy Johnson questioned why a media house would air her newly released movie without permission. 


In a post the social media post, she wrote,   "GHANA BLAZING TV. How is this even ok? BLAZING TV in Ghana is showing my movie THE FIRSTBORN on their TV without my consent. How does this even make sense? How?"
