In a bold and clarifying statement, Comrade Vincent Williams, the State Coordinator of the national solidarity group “I Stand With PDP,” has finally broken his silence amid growing speculation about his political stance in Nigeria’s evolving power dynamics.
Responding to inquiries about his perceived quietude, Williams dispelled any notion of confusion, declaring: "There is no confusion—only strategy."
His statement reaffirms unwavering loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) while raising concerns over internal sabotage and ideological drift.
"I, Vincent Williams—State Coordinator of PDP’s foremost national solidarity group, ‘I STAND WITH PDP’—alongside progressive allies, remain committed to the party’s ideals," he stated, pointing to their active role in the last general election as evidence of enduring dedication.
However, Williams did not mince words about what he views as a troubling trend within the party. He criticized a faction he claims is more aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s APC than with the PDP’s foundational principles.
"The PDP we champion is being undermined by a faction more loyal to Tinubu’s playbook than to our party’s principles," he said, lamenting a culture of impunity that has allowed a "lone wolf" to hijack the party’s voice without facing repercussions.
While Williams and his allies have remained silent in recent months, he emphasized that their quietude should not be misinterpreted as disengagement. Instead, he described it as a tactical recalibration aimed at preserving the party’s integrity and preparing for a more impactful re-engagement.
He further hinted at openness to broader coalitions, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition, clarifying that such alignments are not about political appointments but about working toward a better Nigeria.
"If Wike can dine with APC while wearing PDP’s cloak, we too can uphold our membership while aligning with forces like the Coalition (ADC)—not for appointments, but for a Nigeria that works," he declared.
Comrade Williams assured supporters that detailed strategies are in motion, and the coming days would reveal their next decisive steps.
"Stay tuned; the next phase will make our position unmistakably clear. The game is evolving. Watch closely—our next move will redefine the stakes."
