Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government.  Peter Obi can never be president again, his time has passed– Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has thrown jabs at former presidential candidate Peter Obi, insisting that he can no longer become Nigeria‘s president.

Wike made this known in a thanksgiving service he organized in an Anglican church to thank God for successful projects he has executed in Abuja.

While reacting to the proposed coalition, Wike dismissed Peter Obi's chances of ever becoming president, citing his record as a former governor.

He mentioned that the reason why Peter is saying that there is no democracy in Nigeria is because he is no longer in power, also stating that Peter Obi never practiced Democracy when he was governor of Anambra state.

"For eight years, he was governor, and he didn’t conduct a single local government election. Never. Only you, governor of all the local governments,”

The FCT minister further criticized Obi’s constant movement across political parties, saying:

“In 1999, you were in the party. In 2006, you were in another party. In 2014, you moved to another party. In 2019, you came back to another one. In 2025, you’re moving again—to rescue who?”
