Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  Remo Stars to Kick Off NPFL Title Defense Against Rivers United


Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Remo Stars, will face former champions Rivers United in a thrilling opening match of the 2025/26 season, as revealed during the fixture draw held on a rainy Monday afternoon in Abuja, according to BSNSports.com.ng.


The upcoming NPFL season will feature 20 clubs, each competing in 38 matches—19 at home and 19 away—over 38 match weeks, with ten games scheduled per round. To ensure smooth crowd management and enhanced security, the NPFL has arranged the fixture list to prevent clubs from the same state, such as Abia Warriors and Enyimba FC, or Kano Pillars and Barau FC, from hosting home matches on the same weekend, alternating their home fixtures throughout the season.
