 GOVERNOR UBA APPRECIATES PRESIDENT TINUBU ON THE AWARD OF STRATEGIC CONTRACTS WORTH  ₦1.178 TRILLION IN KADUNA STATE   Kaduna State governor has extended appreciation to President Tinubu, and the Federal Executive Council for the approval and award of transformative infrastructure contracts that will indelibly reshape the economic and social landscape of the state.   The statement personally signed by the governor lists the projects as follows; the Kaduna Light Rail Project an ambitious undertaking spanning a Kilometers corridor from Rigachikun to Sabon Tasha, alongside a Kilometers line from Millennium City to Rigasa, forming a 50-kilometre metropolitan network with an estimated value of One Trillion Naira. Complementing this is the critical reconstruction of the Mando–Kaduna– Birnin Gwari road, a 122-kilometre artery valued at ₦178 billion. S. A: A 33-YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY MEMBERS OF THE SAPS NELSPRUIT FLYING SQUAD FOLLOWING AN ARMED ROBBERY INVOLVING A MEDICAL DOCTOR IN BARBERTON. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON WEDNESDAY, 30 JULY 2025.(PHOTO).

   S. A: A 33-year-old male suspect has been arrested by members of the SAPS Nelspruit Flying Squad following an armed robbery involving a medical doctor in Barberton. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 30 July 2025, at approximately 23:45.


According to reports, the doctor was on his way home after completing his shift when he was approached by two armed suspects. One of them allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and hijacked his new white Mahindra bakkie. The suspects then fled the scene.


Acting on intelligence, police tracked the stolen vehicle travelling towards Machadodorp in the direction of Nelspruit, using the Schoemanskloof Road. While patrolling the N4, officers spotted the vehicle and initiated a high-speed chase.


The suspect’s vehicle turned onto Sabie Road near the Sudwala Caves, where the driver eventually lost control and veered off the road. While the passenger managed to escape, the driver was apprehended on the scene.


During a search, officers recovered a 9mm pistol with the serial number filed off, six live rounds of ammunition, a military-grade signal jamming device with 16 antennas, and a Lenovo laptop.
