 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. S. A: A 33-YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY MEMBERS OF THE SAPS NELSPRUIT FLYING SQUAD FOLLOWING AN ARMED ROBBERY INVOLVING A MEDICAL DOCTOR IN BARBERTON. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON WEDNESDAY, 30 JULY 2025.(PHOTO).


   S. A: A 33-year-old male suspect has been arrested by members of the SAPS Nelspruit Flying Squad following an armed robbery involving a medical doctor in Barberton. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 30 July 2025, at approximately 23:45.


According to reports, the doctor was on his way home after completing his shift when he was approached by two armed suspects. One of them allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and hijacked his new white Mahindra bakkie. The suspects then fled the scene.


Acting on intelligence, police tracked the stolen vehicle travelling towards Machadodorp in the direction of Nelspruit, using the Schoemanskloof Road. While patrolling the N4, officers spotted the vehicle and initiated a high-speed chase.


The suspect’s vehicle turned onto Sabie Road near the Sudwala Caves, where the driver eventually lost control and veered off the road. While the passenger managed to escape, the driver was apprehended on the scene.


During a search, officers recovered a 9mm pistol with the serial number filed off, six live rounds of ammunition, a military-grade signal jamming device with 16 antennas, and a Lenovo laptop.
