Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  Pakistani allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl and disappeared into thin air


The Burgesfort Police Detectives from the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) are urgently seeking community assistance to locate a Pakistani foreign national known only as Adino, whose presence is deemed critical in solving a rape case involving a 12-year-old girl at a spaza shop in Ga-Mampa Village, Mecklenburg on Thursday, 15 May 2025. 


The victim, who approached the suspect for plastics to make a ball, was raped after other customers left the shop, managed to escape, and reported the incident to her mother, who confronted the suspect before he fled the village, prompting police to open a rape case and launch an unsuccessful manhunt. 


Authorities urge the man pictured to report to the nearest police station and request anyone with information to contact Constable Mildred Manamela Mabotja at 071 355 0571.
