 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  SUPER EAGLES GOALKEEPER MADUKA OKOYE BANNED FOR BETTING IN ITALY 


Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has been banned for two months for illegal sports betting in Italy.


Okoye, who joined Italian Serie A side, Udinese, from English club Watford in 2023, was found guilty of betting fraud when he was given a yellow card for wasting time in a 2024 match between Udinese and Lazio.


Authorities later found that thousands of people had betted that Okoye would be given a yellow card at 8/1 odds, with more than €120,000 generated in winnings.


A June 2025 inquiry found the 25-year-old player guilty and he was handed a two-month ban. Analysts said he could have been given a four-year ban.


The ban will take effect from August 18, 2025, when Udinese faces Carrarese in the Coppa Italia, ruling Okoye out of six Serie A matches. He will be eligible to return on October 19.
