 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  12TH ANNUAL SUMMIT: ALARHOSPS CALLS FOR MORAL REBIRTH


The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) has called on all Nigerians, irrespective of status, religion and ethnicity, to join forces towards the ethical rebirth of our great nation, Nigeria.


This call was contained in a statement issued by the Association's President, Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, while announcing the date for their 12th annual summit scheduled to take place from 12th to 13th August, 2025.


Otunba Ojora-Adejiyan said, with the recent happenings in the country, there is no gainsaying the fact that there is a need for a rebirth towards the promotion and practicality of the highest ethical and moral standards in our individual and collective lives; rendering services that are neither selfish nor self-centred, devoid of self-interest towards one another.


He said that we should accept our individual and collective guilt in terms of the present moral degradation and permissiveness, by working jointly in creating the necessary positive change to improve our well-being.


The President appreciated the Lagos State Government for the strategic creation of the Lagos State Food Infrastructure Company (LAFINSCO) aimed at enhancing food security and agricultural productivity in the State.


Recall that the theme of last year's  ALARHOSPS summit was: “Agenda For Sustainable  Development and Food Security”, which contributed in no small measure to the debate and discussions on food security across the country last year.


The concept of the ALARHOSPS summit is to serve as a veritable platform to discuss topical issues on good governance and improved service delivery through which relevant and useful contributions are made towards state and national development.
