 Prince William and Kate Middleton bring George, Charlotte and Louis to Commonwealth Games for first Scotland public outing Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their three children to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking the siblings’ first official public appearance in Scotland. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 44, attended the sporting event on Saturday, Aug. 1, during their summer break with Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. While in Scotland, where William and Kate are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, the family spent time with Team Wales athletes and their families. The couple also visited SportsAid, an organisation that supports young athletes. Kate has served as patron of the organisation since 2013. A 9-YEAR-OLD ILLINOIS GIRL LOST HER LIFE AFTER BEING SWEPT UNDER A LOG JAM IN THE KASKASKIA RIVER.(PHOTO).

 A 9-year-old Illinois girl lost her life after being swept under a log jam in the Kaskaskia River.


This tragic incident unfolded at 2:30 p.m. on August 2nd when authorities in Fayette County received a call regarding a 9-year-old girl drowning in the Kaskaskia River near Wren Bridge. 


As first responders arrived on scene they were informed that the young girl had been swept under a large log jam in the river. 


Multiple agencies were dispatched to assist with the rescue and later recovery of the young girl but sadly by 3 a.m. Sunday morning, recovery efforts were called off. 


The search resumed the next morning at 8 a.m. and approximately 3 hours into their mission, recovery crews were able to locate and extricate the young girl from beneath the log jam. 


This is a truly heartbreaking outcome. Our thoughts are with the family of this young girl and also with the crews who tirelessly searched to bring a conclusion to this tragic situation.
