This unusual and tragic death occurred in Lodi, California, on August 7th. On that day, authorities received a puzzling call.
The caller informed dispatchers that there seemed to be a woman who was possibly stuck in the neighborhood clothing drop-off box.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they were met with a pair of legs dangling from the drop of chute but she was still alive. The woman's upper body and head were fully inside of the box.
Lodi Firefighters were able to grab the woman's legs and pull her free of her predicament.
However, after extricating her from the box, it became clear the female victim was in full blown cardiac arrest. She was administered life-saving measures on scene, but unfortunately, she did not survive. This would be a terrible fate for anyone.
Officials said due to the death occurring inside of the city limits there are detectives assigned to investigate the death. Detectives with the department say they are just trying to fill in the blanks and ask anyone with any helpful information to please come forward.
The identity of the victim is still unknown at this point.
Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
