 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  ANAMBRA POLICE RECEIVES REPORTS OF PROTEST AGAINST SECURITY OPERATIVES, ASSURES STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FOR NECESSARY ACTION


The Anambra State Police Command today 22nd August 2025 received reports of a protest against security operatives in the State.


The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel receiving the report on behalf of the Command assures members of the public, especially Ndi Anambra, that the matter is receiving the necessary attention. He notes that in line with its mandate to maintain peace and security, the Command will engage relevant State security stakeholders and partners to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address the concerns raised, in accordance with the law and established procedures.


The Command further reiterates that the establishment of security outfits operating within Anambra State was borne out of the collective will and consensus of Ndi Anambra, with the sole aim of strengthening community safety, enhancing rapid response, and sustaining peace and security across the State.


The Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property, promoting lawful engagement, and working closely with all stakeholders to sustain peace and security in Anambra State.
