Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  Baltimore mass shooting leaves 6 injured, including 5-year-old girl, police report

Six people, including a 5-year-old girl, were injured in a mass shooting in a Baltimore neighborhood on Saturday night, according to police.

The shooting happened just before 8:50 p.m. near the intersection of Spaulding and Queensberry avenues, where residents had gathered outdoors for a meal, Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said during a late-night news conference.

The child was shot in the hand and is expected to recover, Worley noted. A 38-year-old man remains in critical condition. The other victims include a 23-year-old woman and three men, ages 32, 33, and 52.

Authorities have released few details about the shooter. “We have little information at this point. All we know is there were multiple rounds fired and multiple victims,” Worley said.

He added that it appeared the group was eating crabs when someone opened fire.
