 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Baltimore mass shooting leaves 6 injured, including 5-year-old girl, police report

Six people, including a 5-year-old girl, were injured in a mass shooting in a Baltimore neighborhood on Saturday night, according to police.

The shooting happened just before 8:50 p.m. near the intersection of Spaulding and Queensberry avenues, where residents had gathered outdoors for a meal, Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said during a late-night news conference.

The child was shot in the hand and is expected to recover, Worley noted. A 38-year-old man remains in critical condition. The other victims include a 23-year-old woman and three men, ages 32, 33, and 52.

Authorities have released few details about the shooter. “We have little information at this point. All we know is there were multiple rounds fired and multiple victims,” Worley said.

He added that it appeared the group was eating crabs when someone opened fire.
