 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  BENUE: ELDER GWAMILE DAJOH SLUMPS, DIES AFTER SPEAKER’S RESIGNATION


Tragedy has struck the family of Hon. Aondona Dajoh, the immediate past Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, following the sudden death of his elder brother, Elder Gwamile Dajoh.


Elder Gwamile reportedly collapsed and died on Sunday, just hours after his younger brother tendered his resignation as Speaker of the Assembly.


Details surrounding the incident remain scarce at the time of filing this report.


The late Elder Dajoh was said to have been deeply concerned over the political crisis in the House prior to his sudden passing.


His death follows Hon. Aondona Dajoh’s resignation, which paved the way for the election of Hon. Alfred Berger as the new Speaker during an emergency plenary session.
