 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  BENUE: IDOMA WOMEN LEADERS CALL FOR PEACE IN ADO


A coalition of prominent Idoma women under the banner Anya’ Olo Ki DOMA, a political advocacy group, Thursday called for an end to the escalating crisis between the deputy speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs. Lami Danladi Ogenyi, and the chairman of Ado local government council, Mr. Sunday Oche.


The deputy speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, Lami Danladi-Ogenyi, recently filed a motion alerting the House to an alleged illegal detention cell in Ezza, Ado local government area.


Danladi-Ogenyi said the cell, purportedly operated by political stooges under the supervision of the council chairman, Sunday Oche, poses a significant threat to the lives of Ezza residents.


The motion calls for the suspension of chairman Oche and his deputy to facilitate an investigation. However, chairman Oche has vehemently denied the allegations, accusing Danladi-Ogenyi of blackmail after he refused to share local government funds with her. Oche maintains that he is not involved in any shady dealings.


The situation has escalated into a deep-seated crisis between the Ado council chairman and the deputy speaker, with their supporters reportedly engaging in physical altercations and petitions.
