BOYFRIEND STEALS MARRIED WOMAN'S BABY DURING HOTEL ROMANCE IN DELTA

12th August, 2025

A married woman simply identified as Mummy Precious has lamented over the disappearance of her daughter after she took her to visit her lover.

The woman, a resident of Asaba in Delta State, explained that her boyfriend allegedly stole Precious, a two-year-old girl, in a hotel he lodged them into.

She recalled how the fleeing man met her when she was operating the Point of Sale (PoS) terminal and proposed love to her. According to Precious’ mother, the man, name yet unknown, showed her so much love that she entrusted her daughter into his care.

After days of talking over the phone and sending her money, the fleeing boyfriend reportedly invited Mummy Precious, a single parent, to a hotel in Asaba where he made away with the girl.

She recalled how she visited the hotel on July 15, slept over with the man till the next day, before the disappearance of her daughter.

“He came to me where I was doing my PoS and said he likes me. He kept coming to me and caring for me. I am married but no longer with the father of my baby. After meeting this man at my PoS point, we became friends, and then he invited me to a hotel.

“He had initially asked me to visit him in Anambra State where he stays but I said I couldn’t. We started talking over the phone. Any time I ask him for money for my hair, he will send it to me. He called me on a Whatsapp video and asked me to show him my daughter. He always asks after her and he promised me that every pain that my husband caused me, he will clear it.

“It was because of his caring attitude that I gave him attention. So, he said he has booked a hotel at Golak Hotel along Igbuso road. I visited there with my two years old daughter. We lodged in the room and the next day, he said he wanted to go and get food for us to eat. He brought the food and later went out with my daughter to get her another food.

“He later told me that his female cousin would be coming to the hotel to see him. After she arrived, she asked for the name of my daughter and I told her Precious. She started playing with her. Later, she said she wanted to get something at the hotel gate and carried my daughter along. Not quite long, this man (her boyfriend) also told me he wants to pay the hotel for another night.

“After he left, I got suspicious. I went to the reception and the receptionist said she did not see anyone. I started screaming. I called his phone and it was switched off. I took a bus to Onitsha, searched everywhere but I didn’t see my daughter. I used another person’s phone to call the man he picked but the moment he heard my voice, he cut the call. Ever since, his number has not been reachable,” she lamented.

Meanwhile, a human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, has joined her in searching for her missing daughter.

Gwamnishu said the fleeing man is notorious for having affairs with single mothers and stealing their babies.

The activist who shared the suspect’s picture on social media, urged Nigerians to assist in looking for him and that when they see him, they should report to the nearest police station.
