  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Education Official and Businesswoman Arrested for Corruption


The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team has arrested a Chief Director at the Department of Education, Mrs. Gobonamang Doris Sibiya (59), and former Director of Tshela Bophelo Wellness Solution, Mr. Tshegofatso Kenabatho Gopane (44), together with the company, Tshela Bophelo Wellness Solution. They are facing charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering.


It is alleged that in May 2020, the Department of Education awarded Tshela Bophelo Wellness Solution a tender worth over R6.5 million. The contract was for Covid-19 orientation and training, with ongoing support for 554 schools in the Head Office and five District Offices around Kimberley.


Investigations revealed that Mrs. Sibiya motivated for the company to receive the contract under the single service provider method, even though it did not meet the required standards. She is further accused of receiving R10 000 from Mr. Gopane without declaring it.


The accused were each granted R10 000 bail, and the case has been postponed to 17 September 2025.
