 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Education Official and Businesswoman Arrested for Corruption


The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team has arrested a Chief Director at the Department of Education, Mrs. Gobonamang Doris Sibiya (59), and former Director of Tshela Bophelo Wellness Solution, Mr. Tshegofatso Kenabatho Gopane (44), together with the company, Tshela Bophelo Wellness Solution. They are facing charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering.


It is alleged that in May 2020, the Department of Education awarded Tshela Bophelo Wellness Solution a tender worth over R6.5 million. The contract was for Covid-19 orientation and training, with ongoing support for 554 schools in the Head Office and five District Offices around Kimberley.


Investigations revealed that Mrs. Sibiya motivated for the company to receive the contract under the single service provider method, even though it did not meet the required standards. She is further accused of receiving R10 000 from Mr. Gopane without declaring it.


The accused were each granted R10 000 bail, and the case has been postponed to 17 September 2025.
