 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Enugwu Ukwu Monarch Gives Notice Of Community's New Yam Festival

The Traditional Ruler of Enugwu Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpe has announced the 22nd of August 2025 as the fixed date for the celebration of the community's new yam festival also known as the "Onwa Asato'


In a press statement in his Enugwu Ukwu palace,Igwe Ekpe spoke of the imperatives of the celebration in celebrating the new yam and the performance of other rituals associated with the celebration.


According to the royal father,after the royal new yam celebration,the Enugwu Ukwu community will eat their own yam the following day 23rd of August followed by the Thanksgiving Mass celebration and Church Service on the 24th of August to give God the ultimate glory for the gift of the new yam.


He made reference to the"Ikpo ji' ceremony celebrated on the 19th day of July 2025 which featured the evacuation of all old tubers of Yam in the Nkwo market and their replacement with the new tubers of Yam.
