 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  FG PLEDGES SUSTAINED  PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO SAFE WATER


The Federal Government has assured UNICEF of  sustained partnership to improve access to safe water and sanitation services in the country. 


Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Prof Joseph Terlumun Utsev stated this  when the UNICEF Country Representative Wafaa Saeed paid  him a working visit in Abuja. 


In a statement by the Minister personal Assistant on Media and Publicity Terhemen Oraduen, Prof utsev acknowledged the support and cooperation Nigeria has enjoyed from UNICEF over the years especially in the areas of girl child education, water and sanitation as well as hygiene services which must be strengthened for the good of the country. 


He told the UNICEF Country Representative that his ministry has achieved giant strides in the water and sanitation sector especially under President  Tinubu's administration and would soon  come out with a  document highlighting key achievements of his ministry  and present to UNICEF to identify other areas of intervention. 


Prof Utsev particularly commended the Chief of WASH in Nigeria Jane Bevan for always supporting water and sanitation programmes  and sued for sustainance .


Earlier, UNICEF Country Representative Wafaa Saeed explained that the visit was to appreciate Nigeria for the massive transformation being witnessed in the water and sanitation sector as well as Hydropower investment and to identify the ministry's vision in the water and sanitation sector for more support.
