 IMO STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE OF 6TH DECEMBER, 2025 IMO POLICE COMMAND INTENSIFY CRACKDOWN ON KIDNAPPING, VIOLENT CRIMES ALONG OWERRI–ABA EXPRESSWAY As part of ongoing efforts to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes along the Owerri–Aba Expressway, a high-powered team led by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma on Saturday, 6th December, 2025, inspected suspected kidnappers hideouts in Umuhu Autonomous Community in Ngor-Okpala following credible intelligence on Stanley Morocco Oparaugo, currently at large.  FG PLEDGES SUSTAINED  PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO SAFE WATER


The Federal Government has assured UNICEF of  sustained partnership to improve access to safe water and sanitation services in the country. 


Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Prof Joseph Terlumun Utsev stated this  when the UNICEF Country Representative Wafaa Saeed paid  him a working visit in Abuja. 


In a statement by the Minister personal Assistant on Media and Publicity Terhemen Oraduen, Prof utsev acknowledged the support and cooperation Nigeria has enjoyed from UNICEF over the years especially in the areas of girl child education, water and sanitation as well as hygiene services which must be strengthened for the good of the country. 


He told the UNICEF Country Representative that his ministry has achieved giant strides in the water and sanitation sector especially under President  Tinubu's administration and would soon  come out with a  document highlighting key achievements of his ministry  and present to UNICEF to identify other areas of intervention. 


Prof Utsev particularly commended the Chief of WASH in Nigeria Jane Bevan for always supporting water and sanitation programmes  and sued for sustainance .


Earlier, UNICEF Country Representative Wafaa Saeed explained that the visit was to appreciate Nigeria for the massive transformation being witnessed in the water and sanitation sector as well as Hydropower investment and to identify the ministry's vision in the water and sanitation sector for more support.
