 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Ghana's Defense Minister Omane Boamah, Murtala Mohammed, Muniru Mohammed, Samuel Sarpong & Others Die in Military Helicopter Crash


A military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of several high-profile government officials. 


Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed are among those confirmed dead.


Others who perished in the crash include Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate; and Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC. The crew — Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah — also lost their lives.


The helicopter, operated by the Ghana Armed Forces, was headed to Obuasi when it went off radar on Wednesday morning. 


G,raphic footage from the crash site has circulated, though a full list of victims has not been formally released.
