 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Ghana's Defense Minister Omane Boamah, Murtala Mohammed, Muniru Mohammed, Samuel Sarpong & Others Die in Military Helicopter Crash


A military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of several high-profile government officials. 


Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed are among those confirmed dead.


Others who perished in the crash include Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate; and Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC. The crew — Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah — also lost their lives.


The helicopter, operated by the Ghana Armed Forces, was headed to Obuasi when it went off radar on Wednesday morning. 


G,raphic footage from the crash site has circulated, though a full list of victims has not been formally released.
