  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  ‎I Will Not Handpick My Successor------- Gov. Hope Uzodinma

‎Speaking to leaders from Owerri zone who paid him a courtesy call at Government House Owerri on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Governor Uzodimma also maintained that the person who must emerge as the governorship candidate in 2027 must follow a democratic process and not be handpicked by him.

‎

‎Governor Uzodimma stressed that “the process of selecting a (governorship) candidate must follow a purely democratic process,” and urged Owerri zone to carry other zones in the state along in their quest and desire for the governorship and “allow the will of God in all things.”

‎

‎He maintained that Imo State is desirous of selfless leaders and creative thinkers who are “committed to serving the people and making strong and informed leadership decisions that encourage development.”

‎

‎The Governor further encouraged the leaders from Owerri zone, and particularly those who may be aspiring for the governorship position in the state, to slow down on early campaigns since the election they are craving is still far, reminding them that only God can make the aspirations of human beings possible.

‎

‎He emphasised the need for them to divert their energies and resources to helping improve security, healthcare, and economic well-being of people in their various communities, insisting that the ongoing national campaign on “Health Insurance Scheme is real and effective.”
