Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  JAIL FOOTBALLERS THAT GO POOR - BROWN IDEYE 


Former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, said international footballers should be jailed if they grow poor and cannot food themselves after retirement. 


Ideye, who is 35 and retired from international football, said international players go broke later in life because they failed to make adequate plans ahead.


“Footballers, start saving for your future from day one. No matter how small your salary is, put something aside for your retirement,” Ideye wrote on X.

 

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner made this remark against the lamentation of former Super Eagles defender Taribo West that Peter Rufai's family begged for money to give him a befitting burial.


“They should be jailed for life if, after they retired from playing, they can’t feed themselves,” Ideye stated.
