 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Jacklyn Bezos, mother of Jeff Bezos, dies at 78


Jeff Bezos mourns his mother, Jacklyn “Jackie” Bezos, who has died at 78.

The Bezos Family Foundation shared the news Thursday, posting a tribute and photo of Jackie, saying she passed away peacefully at her home in Miami. While the cause of death was not disclosed, the foundation noted she had been diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2020. The tribute also recognized her healthcare team and praised her husband, Mike, for his unwavering support.

The statement highlighted her life and legacy, describing her as “the true meaning of grit and determination, kindness and service to others,” qualities she instilled in those around her. Jeff Bezos’ wife, Lauren Sánchez, shared the tribute on Instagram Stories, adding a broken heart emoji.

Jacklyn had Jeff at 17 with her first husband, Ted Jorgensen, but they separated when Jeff was a toddler. She later married Miguel “Mike” Bezos, and the couple famously invested nearly $250,000 in Jeff’s fledgling company, Amazon, in 1995. She was 78.
