Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Kamala Harris announces global book tour for 107 Days

Former Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Thursday a 15-city international book tour for her memoir 107 Days, taking her from New York and San Francisco to Toronto and London. The tour begins September 24, a day after the book’s release, and concludes at Miami’s Ziff Opera House in late November.

Harris shared the tour schedule in a social media video featuring clips from her 2024 presidential campaign. She described the book as “a journal” reflecting on her short-lived campaign, which began after President Joe Biden unexpectedly exited the race. According to publisher Simon & Schuster, Harris will discuss her experiences, lessons learned, and insights on moving forward. Most events will be held in theaters and music halls, with moderators yet to be announced.

The tour also partners with small and independent bookstores in several cities, a deliberate choice by Harris. It will include less traditional stops such as Portland, Oregon, and Durham, North Carolina, and may feature surprise appearances in addition to scheduled events. Some stops are in traditionally conservative states, including Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama, prompting speculation about Harris’ future political plans.

In July, Harris announced she would not seek the 2026 California governor’s race, expressing a desire to travel the country, listen, and engage with people outside of transactional politics. Sources close to her have indicated she may still keep the option open to run for president in 2028. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, with VIP options including a signed copy of the book and a photo with Harris.
