KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND ADVANCES INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE GRUESOME KILLING OF SADIQ GENTLE; AND ALLEGED MOB ACTION AGAINST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN KWALWA QUARTERS, KANO

The Kano State Police Command is actively investigating two separate incidents that occurred in Kwalwa Quarters of Kano Municipal (KMC) Local Government Area.
2. The first incident occurred on August 4, 2025, at about 7:30 pm, where yet-to-be-identified suspect(s) invaded the residence of Sadiq Shu'aibu (Sadiq Gentle), a male resident of Kwalwa Quarters, Kano and attacked him. They grievously stabbed, and robbed him of his valuables. The victim was rushed to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital (MMSH) Kano for medical treatment but unfortunately, he succumbed to death on August 7, 2025.
The Kano State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation into the incident and is working assiduously to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The Command urges members of the public with any information on the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
3. The second incident occurred on August 3, 2025, at about 2:00 am, where one Mas'ud Dahiru, a 24-year-old male resident of Kwalwa Quarters, allegedly trespassed into the residence of one Musa Hassan, (m) of the same address, with intent to rob the later. The suspect in an attempt to stab the wife of Musa Hassan with a knife, was resisted by their son, Muhammad Musa, 18 years old, who then was stabbed by the suspect on his back and face.
After raising an alarm, the suspect and his accomplice, one Alhaji Haruna, a 38-year-old male, were trapped and beaten by a mob. They were later rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano where Mas'ud Dahiru was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, his accomplice and the victim were admitted for further medical treatment.
The Police Command is conducting an impartial investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
4. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has assured the public of transparent investigations into both incidents. He further reaffirmed the Command's commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the State.
