 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. The Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway is a multi-state infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and economic activities across northern and southern Nigeria. More...

 Male model arrested in NYC after husband stabbed to death

A male model was arrested over the weekend in Harlem, New York City, after his estranged husband was found stabbed to death in their apartment bathroom.

Donald Zieben-Hood, 40, was ordered held without bail following his arraignment Sunday night as prosecutors weigh homicide charges. He faces first-degree burglary, weapons possession, and aggravated criminal contempt for violating two protection orders.

Jacob Zieben-Hood, 34, died early Friday after bleeding out from a stab wound that severed an artery, according to police. Prosecutors described the scene at the arraignment, saying Jacob was found slumped over a toilet, covered in blood, with head injuries and multiple stab wounds, including one on the back of his calf that penetrated muscle.

Jacob had accused Donald of repeated abuse and had several protection orders against him. Prosecutors cited nine domestic incident reports between the couple dating back to 2022.

Donald, who sustained several cuts to his arms, told police he had fallen asleep and woke up to find Jacob injured and in need of medical help, according to court documents.

Neighbors reported hearing the couple fighting Thursday night. Jacob’s father said his son called him that same evening, warning that Donald was “coming after him” with a kitchen knife.

Donald was previously arrested in February for allegedly strangling Jacob during a dispute. In March, police responded to a 911 call about another fight and found Jacob with a bloody head wound; both men claimed he had fallen. A second protection order was filed in June after Donald allegedly threatened Jacob with a kitchen knife.
