 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  NPFL Unveils 2025/26 Season Schedule, Kicks Off August 22


The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced the schedule for the 2025/26 season, with the new campaign set to begin on Friday, August 22, 2025. Defending champions Remo Stars will face Rivers United in the opening match at Ikenne.


The league will take a mid-season break from December 30, 2025, to January 6, 2026, allowing teams and players to rest before the second half of the season. The mid-season transfer window will be open from January 1 to January 30, 2026, providing clubs an opportunity to bolster their squads.


The 2025/26 NPFL season is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, May 24, 2026, marking the end of what promises to be an exciting campaign.
