Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation.  NYSC Appeals To Gov. Uba Sani For Permanent Orientation Camp

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, to establish a permanent orientation camp and enhance the welfare of corps members serving in the state.

The state coordinator, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, made the appeal on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I orientation course held at the temporary camp inside Government College, Kaduna.

Since insecurity escalated in Kaduna, the NYSC has been forced to relocate from the Black Gold Orientation Camp along the Kaduna-Abuja highway—now occupied by security operatives—to the temporary site at Government College.

Dadaza urged the governor to create a more conducive environment for NYSC programmes, listing key demands such as a befitting permanent orientation camp, improved welfare packages for corps members, inauguration of the NYSC Kaduna State Governing Board, and provision of utility vehicles to ease camp operations.

She also commended corps members for their discipline during the three-week exercise, encouraging them to be good ambassadors of the scheme in their places of primary assignment.

Additionally, she advised them to build on the skills acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme in order to become self-reliant and contribute to job creation.

Governor Uba Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding corps members and NYSC staff. He urged corps members to leave a lasting impact through community development projects and called on employers to accept and support those posted to their establishments.
