 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.  Passenger Remanded in Kirikiri for Assaulting Ibom Air Staff


Comfort Emmanson, a passenger accused of assaulting airline officials aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre following her arraignment in court on Monday.


The incident, which occurred during a recent flight, reportedly involved Emmanson engaging in a physical altercation with Ibom Air staff, disrupting the safety and order of the flight. Details of the assault remain under investigation, but authorities confirmed that the charges stem from her alleged aggressive behavior toward crew members.


Emmanson was brought before a Lagos court, where she faced charges related to the assault. The presiding judge ordered her detention at Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending further hearings. The court has yet to announce a date for the next session.


Ibom Air, in a statement, condemned the incident, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the safety of passengers and staff. The airline is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the case progresses.


This incident highlights growing concerns about passenger conduct on flights, with aviation authorities urging stricter enforcement of regulations to protect airline workers and travelers.
