 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  POLICE ARREST SECURITY GUARD FOR MASTERMINDING BURGLARY, RECOVER STOLEN ITEMS


Detectives of Iju Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a security guard for conspiracy, house breaking, and stealing, with exhibits recovered.


On 15th August 2025, a resident of the Ifako area reported that upon returning home, he discovered his house had been broken into by unknown persons. Stolen items included one Sumec generator, one Fireman generator, one National air conditioner and three air conditioner compressor engines, all valued at ₦1,785,000 (One Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Naira).


Following investigation, detectives arrested one Yisa Hassan aged 38, a security guard in the same neighborhood. Further investigations revealed that the suspect conspired with others still at large to commit the crime. Stolen items have been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices. The case will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh assures Lagos residents that the Command will leave no stone unturned in bringing criminal elements to justice while urging them to always do proper background checks of employees before engaging them.
