Tevin Hood, known professionally as rapper T-Hood, was shot at his home in Snellville, Georgia, and later died from his injuries, authorities confirmed.
Gwinnett County police responded Friday to reports of a dispute that ended in gunfire. First responders provided aid at the scene and transported Hood to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
One person has been detained and is currently being questioned by police. The incident is under investigation as a homicide, though the motive remains unclear. Hood’s mother, Yulanda, confirmed that her son was the victim and denied reports of a party taking place at the time of the shooting.
T-Hood was a recognized figure in the Southern rap community with hits like “READY 2 GO,” “Big Booty,” and “Perculator.” He was 33 years old.
