  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Sri Lanka’s former president Wickremesinghe hospitalised following arrest, media reports

Sri Lanka’s former president, Ranil Wickremesinghe, was hospitalised on Saturday, local media reported, a day after his arrest over allegations of misusing public funds during his time in office.

The 76-year-old, who led the country through a severe economic crisis, was taken into custody on Friday. He was admitted to the emergency care unit at Colombo National Hospital the following day with complications related to dehydration, diabetes, and high blood pressure, hospital director Dr. Rukshan Bellana said. Wickremesinghe was later moved to the intensive care unit, where his condition was reported as stable.

Requests for comment from Wickremesinghe’s office and the hospital were not immediately answered. The former president, a six-time prime minister who lost the presidency last year, had been under investigation for a trip to Britain to attend a graduation lunch celebrating his wife’s honorary professorship, local media reported. An ally from his United National Party called the case politically motivated and maintained Wickremesinghe’s innocence.
