WISCONSIN- A FATHER AND SON BRAVELY JUMPED INTO A RAGING RIVER TO SAVE THEIR DOG WHICH IN TURN, CAUSED THEM TO NEED TO BE RESCUED. (PHOTO).

Wisconsin- A father and son bravely jumped into a raging river to save their dog which in turn, caused them to need to be rescued.

This is definitely a story you need to read until the end.

A dramatic water rescue was captured on a police body cam near Milwaukee on Monday, August 11th.

An unidentified man and his son were enjoying the day near the river when their pet dog named 'Blue' jumped into the rushing waters.

After witnessing their beloved dog Blue jump into the river, the father wasted no time jumping in, to attempt to rescue Blue.

Despite the raging waters, as the river is running high and fast due to recent rain, the son quickly followed the dad into the cold waters.

Both father and son completely lost control of the situation and were soon fighting for their own lives.

Bystanders attempted to aid them both by throwing branches in for the unlucky pair to grab onto.

The father and son were eventually able to grasp onto a branch and hold on to it to keep from being swept further down the river. There was no sign of Blue at that point

911 was called, and multiple agencies responded and began to enact a river rescue.

First responders were able to make it to the pair as they clung to their precarious position.  Unfortunately, as the crews were pulling the father into the raft, the son was unable to hold on any longer. He lost his grip and was overtaken by the raging waters and swiftly hurled downstream.

Crews at a nearby bridge attempted to throw the son a rescue rope as the current swept him past, but he was unable to catch it.

Fortunately, crews were able to pull him from the river a short time later. He had been able to keep his head above water throughout, and although shaken up, he was conscious and alert. At that time, there was still no sign of  Blue, leaving both father and son worried and very sad. They believed their beloved Blue to be lost and began to fear the worst.

Their fears were soon squashed when Blue was discovered waiting at the truck for his owners to quit goofing around and take him home.

Both father and son were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. They are going to be okay, thankfully.

Blue sure caused a lot of chaos but we are very happy everyone is okay. I'd probably jump in too, to save one of my dogs and I can easily see them getting out of the water just fine after a swim and waiting for me at my car, wondering why I took so long.
