 Zaria, Chikun By-Election: NSCDC deploys 1500 personnel to Kaduna


The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kaduna State Command, NB Dansadau has ordered the deployment of 1,500 personnel across Kaduna State ahead of the Saturday, August 16, 2025 by-election in Zaria and Chikun electoral constituencies


A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Musa Labaran said the Command order the immediate deployment while peaking at the Command’s State Headquarters in Kaduna on August 15, 2025


The Commandant warned officers against any conduct capable of tarnishing the image of the Corps, stressing the need for professionalism and total commitment to the protection of lives, property, and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure during the exercise.


Dansadau urged eligible voters to come out en masse and exercise their franchise without fear, assuring them of adequate security before, during, and after the polls.


“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, in collaboration with sister security agencies, is fully prepared to ensure a hitch-free election. I therefore urge you to cast your votes peacefully and in accordance with the law,” he said.


The Commandant also issued a strong warning to criminals, ballot box snatchers, and troublemakers to desist from any disruptive acts, stressing that anyone caught will face the full weight of the law.
